I think this is a great average and very telling metric. I entered 38 beers into the first round, and of these 10 moved on to the final round (26.3%). 500ml brown glass or PET bottles are preferred however, green and clear glass will be. Printed caps are allowed, but must be blacked out completely. The only way to do well in this competition is to not only craft high quality entries, but do it across a broad spectrum of categories. Each entry will consist of 2 x 330 to 500 ml capped bottles or corked bottles that are void of all identifying information, including labels and embossing. This past year’s competition had 7,823 entries with each judging center accepting 750 entries. The National Homebrew Competition is the biggest in the world.
